Nissan.AW Tiida Safety Page Header

Like all Nissans, the Tiida conforms to our three-tier safety program. This involves an approach to safety which encompasses three different disciplines; Impact Safety, Control Safety and Information Safety.

The new Nissan Tiida's safety starts with Impact Safety. Its safety zone body construction and side impact protection are designed specially to absorb impact energy and create a protective shell around the vehicle's occupants. Add to this dual front SRS driver and passenger airbags on all models plus the additional assurance of front to rear curtain airbags on the Ti models.

In terms of Control Safety, Tiida features standard front seatbelt pre-tensioners, with standard ABS brakes with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Brake Assist for perfect peace of mind.

Nissan.AW Anti-lock braking system Anti-lock braking system
ABS, EBD & BA - The Tiida has it all. Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) helps the driver retain directional control while braking or turning. It optimises braking performance by sensing wheel lock and sending a signal to the braking system to release the locked wheel.

Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) system senses the load condition – of both passengers and luggage – to optimise rear brake force and control front and rear brake distribution for better braking effectiveness.

Brake Assist can help reduce braking distances by up to 10-15% by sensing the driver's braking speed and stress in hard or panic braking situations. The extra pedal pressure delivers extra stopping power by activating the ABS and EBD more quickly under emergency braking situations.

Nissan.AW Suspension Suspension
The Tiida's proven McPherson strut front suspension provides superb steering control and a smooth ride through the corners. The rear Multi-link torsion beam with coil springs and stabiliser bar keep the rear wheels perpendicular to the ground, optimising tyre/road contact, making the car's handling performance better and safer in all conditions.

Nissan.AW Body zone construction Body zone construction
Safety Zone body construction consists of high strength cabin and impact absorbing body structure. Use of energy absorbing materials help to reduce the impact force for primary and secondary impact.
Nissan.AW Side intrusion beams Side intrusion beams
Using door reinforcements and anti-intrusion door structure, impact energy is designed to be distributed to the body side structures.

Nissan.AW Child safety Child safety
Child-safety rear door locks help prevent children from accidentally opening the rear doors. There are also 3 child seat anchorage points to give you more seating flexibility depending on your specific family needs.
